I’m best known for being a medical negligence lawyer with over 25 years’ experience and I’m highly regarded in this field. I was the Lead Solicitor on two of the largest Group Actions against the NHS.
In 2013, following the successful growth and subsequent sale of my personal injury and medical negligence law firm Goodmans Law to Slater and Gordon Lawyers, I took on a senior leadership role with the firm. In 2017, I joined Simpson Millar, where I oversaw significant financial and staffing growth, helping to create and manage a £40m+ law firm.
I’ve been recognised for my work by the leading legal directories, with Legal 500 describing me as a ‘leading individual’ who ‘cares greatly, makes a real difference to the cases he is involved in and has the guts and drive to make things happen’. Chambers & Partners ranked me as Band 1 and said that I’m ‘an influential medical negligence lawyer, who is prominent in the industry’.

In 2022, with my proven track record and drive to facilitate commercially successful operational change I set up The Cohen Consultancy Ltd. Using my extensive knowledge and experience as a strategic thinker and leader, I help law firms that specialise in medical negligence and serious personal injury, as well as their supply chain by combining legal expertise with business acumen.
I became Executive Director on the Board of the Inspire Legal Group in 2022. The ambition of the firm to modernise and digitise the legal sector mirrored my own mission to help law firms operate more efficiently and effectively through modern technology.
Connected
Supporting the legal industry through radical change, means collaborating with the right people and partners to support lawyers as consultants under our firm model. I’m an experienced leader, with strong communication, marketing and data analysis skills. I‘m experienced in key relationship management, including investor relations. I have experience in merger and acquisitions (M&A) both buying and selling law firms, as well as WIP book purchases.
Accessible
I’m regularly asked to share my knowledge speaking at industry events and have often appeared in the media. I also provide training, mentoring and coaching, this is part of the ethos of Inspire Legal Group.
Making lives easier
I’ve always been a keen advocate of mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, and working amicably and constructively with defendants to settle claims. The work we do at Inspire Legal Group to modernise and advance the legal sector will make this possible for so many more people.
